Many of you are aware that we have been moving our facilities. Well, we can finally spill the beans: We’re happy to invite you to our new studio backlot, centrally located near downtown and the beach at the former location of Jungle Island.
Financed by a 1% Miami-Dade County bed tax increase and a generous sales tax rebate from the State of Florida, this is another Miami attraction we can all be proud of — paid for with your tax dollars!

Raw Deal: A Question of Consent now available for streaming and download
Our first documentary, Raw Deal: A Question of Consent, is finally available online. Download now.
When we premiered Raw Deal at the Sundance Film Festival in 2001, it generated an avalanche of controversy and critical acclaim, culminating with a front page cover story in the New York Post.

Since then, the documentary has screened at film festivals around the world, aired on TV in the UK, and has been analyzed in textbooks and works of investigative journalism.
Raw Deal examines the alleged rape of a stripper at the Delta Chi fraternity house at the University of Florida, a familiar set of circumstances in several high-profile cases in recent years: allegations against Duke lacrosse players (later proven false), the arrest of former IMF head Dominique Strauss-Kahn for the sexual assault of a hotel housekeeper and the recent rape verdict involving members of the Steubenville High School football team.
The unique element in the Delta Chi case: the fraternity members captured the evening’s events on videotape and the footage was made available to the public. Even more compelling, reasonable people who watch it disagree about whether or not the sexual activity is consensual or not.
Now, as David Cypkin memorably quipped during one of the many loud disagreements we had during the edit: Welcome to the argument.
Cocaine Cowboys masterclass seminar at the Miami International Film Festival
Come see us Saturday, March 9th at 3pm at the Miami Beach Cinematheque:
In its 13-year history, Miami’s production company rakontur has had a string of documentary hits including “Cocaine Cowboys,” “Square Grouper” and ESPN’s “The U.”
In this exclusive master class, Rakontur co-founders Billy Corben and Alfred Spellman unveil their latest projects. They’ll talk about their four-year quest to adapt “Cocaine Cowboys” into a dramatic TV series, navigating the hallways of Hollywood during a time of upheaval. They’ll also share clips and discuss three works-in-progress: “Cocaine Cowboys: Remix” that revisits the subject matter with all new footage; “Dawg Fight,” an expose of illegal backyard MMA fighting in south Florida; and “Ponzi State,” a satirical look at the boom and bust nature of the Florida economy.
